Extension and Outreach Lifelong Learning Online Focus Groups

Thank you for your interest in our 90-minute Lifelong Learning Online focus groups, which will focus on how Iowa residents like to learn about new topics online. During our discussion, we'd like to talk to Iowans who have not used ISU Extension and Outreach services. Click on the "Get Started" button below to see if you qualify to participate.

Get started

Focus groups will take place either in January and February 2024. To thank you for participating, focus group participants will receive $40 after the discussion ends. Food and drinks will be provided for in-person discussions.

  • What is a focus group? A focus group is just a casual, guided discussion between 8-12 community members who share their opinions with a business or researcher. These opinions are usually used to improve products or services. For this focus group, your opinions will be used by ISU to improve the educational materials provided to Iowans online.

  • Am I obligated to participate if I fill out the form? No. Completing our form does mean you are required to join our discussion, nor does it guarantee a spot in our discussion.

  • How will my information be used? We will not send you junk mail and we will only contact you with important messages about this project. The contact information you provide will only be shared with research project staff at Iowa State University.

  • Are discussions online or in-person? On the form, you can let us know if you prefer to attend an online Zoom focus group or if you'd like to attend an in-person focus group in your county seat.

  • The "Get Started" button above won't work. Please try visiting
