The Land Use and Cover Inventory Database (LUCID) is an online tool developed by DSS for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This tool allows users to access custom NRI estimates over an area of interest, even at the county level. The NRI contains 33 years of data that tracks the condition and trends of land, water, and other natural resources in the United States. Estimates can provide a wide variety of information including a broad or detailed breakdown of land cover or use (forest, developed, pasture, water, etc.), a summary of crop and pasture information (conservation methods in use and erosion information), a description of soil, and estimates of wetland or other land data.
